Terms of Use Code of Conduct Members of the Association of Fractional Professionals are here to engage in peer-to-peer group networking with the goal of helping one another build and grow their individual practices. To facilitate relationship building and inspire trust between members, which is the single most important and valuable factor that influences referrals and recommendations, we want all members to know what is expected and have created the following “Code of Conduct” to make this clear. I will help others. The best way you can help yourself is to help others in your peer group board. Each of us is here to network, collaborate, learn and be part of a team seeking to help each other find and win new clients, projects and opportunities. I will be prepared. To truly help ourselves and each other each of us must be prepared to participate in meetings and dialogue with our peers. This means, have a list of companies you are targeting. Be able to clearly communicate the issues or challenges you help SMB’s address. Have something to share with your peer team. I will keep information confidential. The conversations and information you share and exchange with members is privileged information. Do not share or discuss details with anyone outside your peer group unless given express prior permission by that individual or as required by law. I will be transparent. Disclose any business interests or relationships you have relating to any service providers, companies or organizations that you refer, recommend or endorse to others. I will respect others. While I may disagree with my peers and colleagues from time to time, I will never intentionally injure their professional or personal reputations. This includes making statements on social media or in public settings that may be considered critical or negative. I will not be selfish. Get to know your peers but don’t make the conversation all about you and your business all the time. If you are just here for yourself, this isn’t the group for you. I will not solicit clients of my peers without their consent or help. This requires each member to get to know the other peers in their group, what clients they serve, and the work they are doing. A warm introduction and referral is the best opportunity for new business. Only solicit another members client(s) when invited to do so or with their explicit consent and support. I will reward peer referrals. Specifically, any introductions and assistance that helps me land a new client or project. As a member we encourage you to establish, communicate and honor providing a referral reward to any peer who aids you in growing your practice. We recommend offering a fixed fee dollar amount or percentage of sales revenue associated with the new client. The peer referral reward you are willing to pay should be designated in your member profile. I will practice the golden rule. Treat others the way you want and expect to be treated. Show respect, be honest, avoid conflict, and be considerate to others. I will not engage in discriminatory behavior of any kind. Federal and State laws protect against harassment or prejudicial practices on the bases of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age or other protected characteristics. We are a diverse community and accept all professionals working as fractional executives who serve small and midsize businesses.
